On June 5, 2026, the Shanghai Silver Tourism Resource Allocation Matchmaking Event, guided by the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau and hosted by the Shanghai Cultural and Tourism Industry Development Promotion Center, was successfully held at the 2026 Shanghai International Senior Care, Assistive Devices, and Rehabilitation Medical Expo. With the core goal of “precise matchmaking and mutual empowerment,” this was the first event to systematically organize cultural and tourism resource matchmaking at the Senior Expo, bringing together government, enterprises, banks, and social organizations across the entire chain, laying a solid resource foundation, building communication bridges, and fostering cooperation consensus for the high-quality development of silver tourism in Shanghai.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Zhang Zhiqiao, Second-level Inspector of the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Zhang Xiaoying, Second-level Inspector of the Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, attended the event and delivered speeches. They outlined development directions focusing on policy implementation, product innovation, and service optimization for aging adaptability. With a high focus on the dimensions of “product, marketing, and service,” they built an efficient matchmaking platform between silver tourism product supply and channel demand, solving practical difficulties such as route selection, travel, and service challenges in silver tourism.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During the thematic sharing and product promotion session, representatives from 8 silver industry-related enterprises, including Xinmin Evening News, the Municipal Association of Elderly Care Services and Aging Industry, Spring Travel, Bank of Shanghai, Shanghai Opera Art Center, Greenland Urban Investment, Oriental Shopping, and Bank of Communications, took turns on stage. They shared innovative achievements from multiple dimensions, including media research, travel agency products, financial support, forest wellness, opera micro-tourism, and digital services. After the meeting, guests engaged in in-depth communication and discussions on potential cooperation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Next, the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Municipal Cultural and Tourism Industry Development Promotion Center will take this matchmaking event as a starting point to continuously improve the full-chain standard system of Shanghai’s aging-adaptive tourism products, facilities, and services. They will refine a replicable and scalable “Shanghai Model” for silver tourism, deeply cultivate the cross-border integration of “culture and tourism + wellness + finance + education,” enrich the supply of silver tourism products, and help upgrade and expand Shanghai’s silver economy. This will enable senior citizens in Shanghai to “enjoy traveling and find joy in travel,” injecting silver momentum into the construction of Shanghai as an international consumer center.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/section>\n
