Turkish Glass Lamp Craft Activity
Glass lamps originated in China and traveled westward along the ancient Silk Road to the bazaars of Istanbul. Local artisans incorporated Islamic-style mosaic inlay techniques, turning every lamp into a glowing gem.
During the activity, you will become a Silk Road artisan. On the brass lamp base, red like blazing fire, blue like the deep sea, green like emerald, warm and bright gold, gentle purple… all kinds of colored glass are yours to mix and match. The position of every fragment is decided by your own hands; the direction of every beam of light holds your ingenuity.
No artistic background is needed; the teacher will guide you step by step. Take your time, no rush, and carefully craft a lamp into the look you love.

PART 2
This August, the Silver Hair Store has already hosted several lively events.
On August 17, grandparent-grandchild teams became “little directors of light and shadow.” With convex lenses, film, and a beam of light, children and grandparents together assembled a little projector that tells stories.
On August 19, everyone experienced Song brocade pearl painting, pairing Song brocade patterns with pearl accents, “delicate outlines, beauty in motion,” bringing traditional aesthetics into everyday life.
On August 25, the “Time-Building House · Grandparent-Grandchild Joy” parent-child handicraft building experience kicked off warmly. The young and old built their dream log cabins, cementing companionship into every block.
Every event is a warm gathering. Thank you to every family member who attended, making this August especially radiant.

Shanghai Silver-Hair Store is more than just a shop—it is a ‘thermometer’ for senior-friendly living. We believe that what seniors truly want is dignity, safety, and quality. The Modern Joy Senior Club is the liveliest embodiment of this philosophy: learning in old age, enjoying in old age, and contributing in old age.
