Selected for a national-level project! Smart rehabilitation assistive devices welcome new opportunities! The Ministry of Civil Affairs' elderly care and disability assistance project has been selected as one of the first batch of landmark major application scenario projects.
On October 20, the ‘Intelligent Rehabilitation Assistive Devices Industrialization Scenario Construction Project in the Field of Elderly Care and Disability Assistance’ declared by the Ministry of Civil Affairs was included in the first batch of national-level landmark major application scenario project lists, and is organized and implemented under the leadership of the National Research Center for Rehabilitation Technical Aids.
This project is based on the positioning of rehabilitation assistive devices as a strategic emerging industry, takes the verification and application of intelligent rehabilitation assistive devices as the carrier, and takes elderly care and disability assistance livelihood scenarios as the first-launch verification field. It builds a two-tier service network of ‘Smart Rehabilitation Assistive Devices City Reception Hall + Community Nearby Service Outlets,’ promoting rehabilitation assistive device products to move from technical products to mature commodities and from local pilots to nationwide application, striving to improve the quality of elderly care and disability assistance services, cultivate new momentum for the silver economy, and lead the upgrading of health consumption.
The Smart Rehabilitation Assistive Devices City Reception Hall is the core hub of regional scenarios, where intelligent rehabilitation assistive device display and experience, product verification, assessment and configuration, technical training, and supply-demand matching are carried out in a concentrated manner. Users experience cutting-edge technologies here, and product providers can collect frontline usage feedback and drive product iteration; professional technicians conduct service training here, output standardized service plans, and extend them to various community sites.
Community nearby service outlets are service tentacles rooted at the doorsteps of the people, delivering basic services such as simple configuration, leasing and maintenance, and usage guidance for rehabilitation assistive devices to the people around them, achieving nearby configuration, nearby publicity, nearby service, and nearby after-sales, so that people in need can reach them on foot and enjoy convenient rehabilitation assistive device services at their doorsteps.
The project connects grassroots people on one end and industrial innovation on the other. Relying on scenario-driven empowerment, the project uses the two-tier service network to open up the two-way chain between livelihood and industrial innovation, filling the ‘last mile’ shortfall in elderly care and disability assistance services, providing full-chain support for enterprises, and striving to exceed a industrial scale of 1 trillion yuan by 2028.
A relevant person in charge of the Department of Social Affairs of the Ministry of Civil Affairs introduced that next the Ministry of Civil Affairs will continue to play a coordinating role, continuously increase the opening up of scenarios in the field of elderly care and disability assistance, promote rehabilitation assistive devices into communities, families, and institutions, transform rich livelihood scenario resources into industrial innovation advantages, make high-quality rehabilitation assistive device services close to the people and within reach, and effectively enhance the sense of gain, happiness, and security of special groups such as the elderly and persons with disabilities.
