To further broaden the horizons of community senior volunteers and give them a close-up experience of new achievements and trends in the elderly care service field,On June 4, the Aging Management Office of Hongqiao Town, along with 50 community senior volunteers, went tothe 2026 Shanghai International Senior Care, Assistive Devices, and Rehabilitation Medical Expo (abbreviated as ‘Shanghai Senior Care Expo’)for a study visit, experiencing the innovative vitality and people-oriented warmth of technology-empowered elderly care in an immersive exhibition.

This visit closely focused on key areas such as smart elderly care, rehabilitation assistive devices, age-friendly renovation, and health management.At the exhibition site, various smart care equipment, rehabilitation aids, age-friendly home products, and health monitoring systems were showcased, vividly demonstrating the development direction of elderly care services transitioning from traditional care to intelligent, refined, and high-quality services.

During the visit, guided by the staff, the senior volunteers focused on learning about the application scenarios of products such as intelligent robots, exoskeleton walking aids, care robots, smart wheelchairs, age-friendly lighting, care beds, and health monitoring systems.They walked, watched, listened, and asked questions, occasionally stopping to exchange ideas. Combining their own life experiences with the actual needs of the elderly in the community, they gained a deeper understanding of the functional features of related products in areas such as home-based elderly care, rehabilitation nursing, safety protection, and spiritual companionship.

From convenient and safe mobility aids to a more comfortable home environment; from intelligent health monitoring to diversified cultural and entertainment services, the various age-friendly products and services presented at the expo allowed the senior volunteers to personally feel the new changes brought by technological development to their later years.
