What's the village like now? Are Mom and Dad living comfortably? Cases of elderly-friendly renovation in Shanghai's rural areas are now being collected.
To implement the deployment in the Shanghai Civil Affairs Development ’15th Five-Year Plan’ on intensifying elderly-friendly renovation efforts and improving the rural elderly care service network, and to systematically review the elderly-friendly renovation practices that have been implemented and achieved tangible results in rural areas of this city, as well as to identify a batch of project cases that fit the characteristics of rural life and can be replicated and promoted, it is hereby decided to carry out the collection of rural elderly-friendly renovation cases in Shanghai.
I. Collection Objectives
Openly solicit practical cases that have been completed and put into use from units and project teams related to rural elderly-friendly renovation in this city. The focus is on reflecting the actual renovation results, service value, and promotion significance of the projects. Proposals that remain only at the conceptual, planning, or paper design stage and have not yet been implemented on the ground will not be accepted.

III. Solicitation Targets
Relevant units in this city that participate in the construction, design, construction, product configuration, and operation services of rural aging-friendly renovation projects may apply, including elderly care service institutions, design and decoration enterprises, aging-friendly product and rehabilitation assistive device enterprises, smart elderly care enterprises, social organizations, village collective economic organizations, community and elderly care service facility operation units, universities, and research institutions. Joint applications by multiple parties such as design, construction, product, and operation entities are encouraged; for joint applications, one lead unit should be designated.
IV. Solicitation Scope
The application cases should be located in rural or agriculture-related areas of Shanghai, have completed renovation and achieved actual usage results, including but not limited to the following types:
❶ Age-friendly renovation of the living environment for elderly households in rural areas, including bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, entrances and exits, indoor passageways, safety protection, etc.;
❷ Age-friendly renovation of elderly care service facilities such as rural senior care homes, rural demonstration neighborhood points, village-level elderly care service stations, and elderly meal service venues;
❸ Age-friendly and barrier-free renovation of village public spaces, courtyards, roads, ramps, public restrooms, rest areas, lighting and signage systems, etc.;
❹ Comprehensive application projects combining age-friendly products, rehabilitation aids, smart devices with spatial renovation;
❺Other age-friendly renovation projects that are based on rural realities and are representative in terms of low-cost renovation, utilization of existing space, application of local materials, and sustainable operation.
V. Application Conditions
❶ Authenticity.The project must genuinely exist, with the relevant renovation work completed and put into use, and the application materials should objectively reflect the implementation process and actual results.
❷ Applicability.Fully consider the living habits, physical conditions, family structures, and rural spatial characteristics of elderly residents in rural areas, and be able to solve practical pain points.
❸ Safety.The project complies with building, fire protection, electrical, accessibility, and related product usage requirements, and no major safety liability accidents directly related to project quality have occurred in the past three years.
❹ Demonstrativeness.The project has certain distinctive features in space optimization, product configuration, service integration, cost control, operation and maintenance, and has value for replication and promotion.
❺ Compliance.The applicant unit holds legal usage rights to the submitted text, images, drawings, videos, and other materials, and has obtained the necessary authorization from the project owner, user, or relevant parties.
VI. Application Materials
Create a separate folder for each case, named as “Applicant Unit—Project Name”, and submit the following materials:
❶ Case Application Form(Click “Read Original” to download). Including basic information such as the applicant unit, project name, project address, project type, completion time, participating units, contact person, and contact information.
❷ Case Text Introduction. The word count should generally not exceed 1,000 words, focusing on the project background, the needs of the elderly, the main problems before renovation, the renovation approach, implementation content, funding investment, operation and maintenance, actual results, and promotion value.
❸ Case Display Board. It should be designed by the applicant unit based on the project situation. It is recommended to use a vertical format of 180 mm × 270 mm, in JPG format, with a resolution of no less than 150 dpi. The display content should include a project introduction, before-and-after renovation comparison, main floor plans or node diagrams, core practices, and actual results.
❹ ItemProject drawing files. Submit main floor plans, elevations, detail drawings, circulation diagrams, etc. that reflect the renovation features, in PDF format; if no such drawings are available, schematic diagrams that clearly illustrate the renovation content may be submitted.
❺ Project image materials. Include photos before renovation, photos during construction, photos of the actual results after renovation, and on-site photos that correspond to the design drawings and renderings. Organize them uniformly into PDF format with brief captions.
❻ Other supplementary materials. User feedback, third-party evaluations, media reports, award certificates, or other materials that demonstrate the project’s effectiveness may be voluntarily submitted.
VII. Submission Method and Deadline
Applicants shallcomplete online submission before 17:00 on September 11, 2026,and compress the complete application materials into a ZIP file, then send it to marketing@shaid.org.cn. The subject line should be uniformly named as “Rural Aging-Friendly Renovation Case Collection – Applicant – Project Name”. If the same applicant submits multiple cases, separate folders should be created for each.

VIII. Other Matters
1.This activity is for case collection and industry achievement promotion. No awards will be given, no rankings will be made, and no application fees will be charged.
❷ The applicant unit shall be responsible for the authenticity, accuracy, and legality of the materials. If there is false declaration, infringement, or other non-compliant situations, the organizer has the right to terminate its participation qualification.
❸ The organizer may use the selected materials for public welfare publicity, case compilation, exhibitions, industry training, and related exchange activities, provided that the case and the applicant unit are indicated. If the materials involve privacy or information not suitable for public disclosure, the applicant unit should provide a written explanation when submitting.
❹ Matters not covered in this notice shall be explained by the undertaking unit.
